Jobs up 14% in the first three months of 2016

The number of  jobs advertised online  during the first three months of this year increased by 14% compared to this time last year according to the latest IrishJobs.ie Jobs Index.

Compared with the previous quarter jobs are up 1% overall with increases in jobs for  HR professionals,  engineers,  construction professionals  and  medical professionals.

IrishJobs.ie data was prepared and analysed by Dr Declan Curran, economist, and Dr. Chris van Egeraat, economic geographer, DCU.  Dr Curran commented;

“The rate of job vacancies being created in the Irish economy in 2016: Q1 suggests a continuation of the forward momentum experienced throughout 2015. Sectorally, recent job vacancies extend beyond manufacturing into construction,  engineering, and business support services such as recruitment and HR. In terms of location, Dublin records the highest vacancy-to-employment rate and this rate has risen year-on-year.”
