As rising inflation continues to put pressure on incomes across the county, IrishJobs has launched the second instalment of its #BrandofYou series, giving Ireland’s workforce access to an expert-led programme of FREE financial advice.

Developed in partnership with leading Money Mindset Coach Kel Galavan, this special three-part #BrandofYou series has been designed to help workers make smarter money moves – empowering them with savvy saving and budgeting skills to futureproof their financial wellness and build up their very own toolkit of financial resources.

Available for FREE on IrishJobs, workers will have unlimited access to this valuable #BrandofYou resource, with a new expert-led video and downloadable worksheet going live on the website each week.

Topics addressed as part of this special programme include:

Week 1 – Assessing a Job offer – Salary & Benefits. Discover why it’s so important to look beyond the salary when you’re searching for a new job and find out how to put a value on the benefit packages being offered by employers that could add to your overall earnings and prepare you for life’s little surprises!
Week 2 – Budgeting and your Personal Finances. Learn how to budget simply and effectively and understand how those savings will help you choose the job you want, and not just the job you feel you have to take.
Week 3 – Pensions. What, Why and How. Understand the basic steps involved in switching your existing pension benefits to a new employer’s scheme or how to set up a long-term savings plan so that you can enjoy the retirement you deserve.

Financially informed career moves

Money Mindset Coach, Kel Galavan and IrishJobs General Manager, Orla Moran.

Commenting on her collaboration with IrishJobs, and the importance of improving your financial literacy when considering a career move, Money Mindset Coach, Kel Galavan said:

“External motivations will always have an impact on the financial decisions we make throughout our lifetime. When we’re under financial pressure, it can be so easy to lose sight of our long-term ambitions, but to get to where you truly want to be, you need to build a healthy relationship with money.

“I’ve partnered with IrishJobs to develop this FREE #BrandofYou programme which will help users get a better understanding of how and where they’re spending their money so that they can make smarter money moves in the future. With new topics each week, users will build up their very own toolkit of financial resources with some of my top tips on basic budgeting; they’ll learn how to uncover the real added value in company benefits and how best to approach savings and pension plans when changing jobs.”

Orla Moran, General Manager, IrishJobs says, “Our latest independent research tells us 23% of people are considering a job move at the moment. In this second instalment of our #BrandofYou series, we wanted to deliver a resource that would help our audience make educated and informed decisions that will positively impact their financial future and their job hunt.

“Following what was a hugely successful five-week programme of self-discovery with Gerry and Miriam Hussey, which remains freely available on the IrishJobs.ie website for our users to revisit as they need it, we’re thrilled to be working with Kel Galavan on this timely three-part programme that’s focused on helping our audience of over 1.1million job seekers improve their financial literacy. Now really is the time to evolve how you look, act, think about and handle your money to futureproof the #BrandofYou.”
