TCPID to launch online mentor training for business partners

The Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities is in the process of developing new online mentor training for their business partners.

The announcement was made during TCPID’s annual business partners meeting which took place recently.

The Centre works closely with a network of Business partners who provide essential financial and practical support to enable the centre to develop educational and work-related opportunities for students.

Business partners include IrishJobs.ie,   Abbott Ireland, EY, PayPal, Intel, Bank of Ireland, NTMA, Janssen Sciences Ireland, A&L Goodbody, Permanent TSB and more.

The meeting was opened by Head of School of Education, Damian Murchan and speakers included TCPID graduates Shane McGilton, Marian O Rourke, Hugh O Callaghan and Niamh Biddulph.

Marie Devitt, TCPID Pathways Coordinator told business partners the Centre has ambitious plans for the year ahead.

“Our business partners actively help to transform the lives and opportunities of people with intellectual disabilities working with centre staff to create diverse, inclusive and productive workplaces. We would like to expand our network of partners and increase the number of graduate internships and eventually permanent roles. We are also looking to develop more business partner-led training workshops for our students for May 2019.”
