Impossible roles made possible

Reading Time: 2 minutes

With a thousand companies using IrishJobs.ie on an ongoing basis to fill critical roles we know firsthand that that war for talent is very fierce and very real. A potent blend of the Irish labour market within touching distance of full employment and talent shortages in key sectors has resulted in competition for candidates with the in-demand skills escalating.

Forecasters tell us that by 2023 Ireland will need to achieve the CSO’s most aggressive population growth model to supply workers to meet the country’s projected jobs growth, so it’s unlikely that the challenges recruiter face in filling critical roles will end any time soon.

It’s no surprise then that circumstances are forcing companies to look beyond Ireland for talent.

To address this need we recently expanded our International team. They not only help customers bridge the skills gap by sourcing candidates outside of Ireland but also work closely with companies to help them centralise their hiring for their international offices.

Ciara Herd is IrishJobs.ie’s International Account Manager, she explains the service her team provides.

How does International Recruitment work?

IrishJobs.ie is the only Irish member of The Network, an international federation of the world’s leading recruitment websites. Covering more than 139 countries, members of The Network are all major players in their respective countries, with in-depth knowledge of their local labour markets and access to talented local candidates. We collaborate with our Network colleagues to ensure our customers attract the best talent for their vacancies.

We take the stress out of international recruitment. We provide advice on global talent hotspots by industry sector and suggesting countries to target and we place, track and manage the performance of job postings.

The process is as streamlined as possible. We offer a single point of contact, a single point of access to applications as well as a single contract and a single invoice which can be paid in euros.

It is easy as possible for businesses to advertise their jobs in Dusseldorf or Dubai as it is in Dublin.

What type of roles do you advertise?

We can help recruiters identify talent and advertise their vacancies anywhere in the world.

The talent shortages are well documented, so we work with companies searching for candidates with in-demand skills such as IT professionals, construction workers, engineers and chefs.

However, more and more I am working with HR professionals who are responsible for recruitment in offices outside Dublin. We offer companies the opportunity to consolidate their recruitment into one single contract and single point of posting, reducing admin and streamlining their international recruitment processes.

Where have you advertised jobs?

It’s more a case of where haven’t we! Romania and Spain are IT talent hotspots, so we have helped our customers reach IT professionals based there and we have worked with organisations who want to attract home Irish professionals from countries such as the UK.

We also support international companies with Dublin based HQs with their recruitment for their offices around the world.

With over 130 countries in the Network, there are very few places in the world we can’t reach. We have helped one customer advertise a job in the Congo, and our most recent enquiry was about advertising jobs in East Timor.
