Our latest Jobs Index reveals a continued stabilisation in the jobs market, with opportunities available across the country levelling out compared to the year-on-year growth we saw last quarter. Meanwhile, the second Index of 2022 shows the trend towards remote work continuing, with an 11% increase in the number of jobs advertising remote work on a quarterly basis.
With the lifting of all public health restrictions earlier this year, the first Jobs Index of 2022 suggests some stabilisation in the market with the number of job vacancies levelling out compared to the high year-on-year growth we saw last quarter. Our latest survey reveals that over four in 10 (44%) of those currently working from home find that they are working longer hours at home than they would in a normal working day. The latest IrishJobs.ie Jobs Index shows that hotel and catering vacancies rose by 13pc quarter-on-quarter, and by 9pc year-on-year. However job vacancies fell back by 1pc with employers concerned about the potential impact of Brexit.
