Viasat has huge potential but isn't there yet.

The Best Bits

Most of the people were very friendly and the new office was such a step up from the Arconics offices. Great industry to work in too, as long as the company is ready for the technology required to be built.

Things to improve

On-boarding: I had to wait 5, nearly 6 weeks to receive the software I needed to do my job. I was told I was not allowed to use my own software, but I had to, otherwise I'd be sat there doing nothing for over a month. The experience of the team and the team manager was not up to par with the requirements of the products needing to be built. Process in dealing with prejudice in the company is very poor.

About The Job

Not what a typical Senior Product Designer should be doing in a 2018 tech' SaaS and digital company. We were also UX specialists, but did not follow any industry standard processes. The company has very little experience in Agile Scrum too, which is a big hindrance on design, development and general production of product.
