St. Michael's Hospital is an acute general hospital providing a range of specialised clinical services to the people of South Dublin and Wicklow. We provide care for both medical and surgical patients, as well as outpatient clinics and services including cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes treatment, heart failure treatment, pulmonary rehabilitation. We are an academic teaching hospital- part of the St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group – and share resources and expertise with St. Vincent’s University Hospital in Elm Park campus, Dublin.

The Best Bits

Great work life balance. Not too hectic. Colleagues and other staff very considerate. Great location.

A bit more career progression oriented approach. Teaching and training need to improve.

Staff Morale, no matter what the challenges were, there was always ateam spirit.

Things to improve

Nursing staff numbers. We always seem to need at least 1 additional staff member per shift.

The Best Bits

It is in a great location with lovely places nearby for lunch.The staff are very friendly and as it is a relatively small hopital,there is a great sense of community and everyone very friendly

Things to improve

The areas that needed improvement have been improved.The interior has a new modern feel.The car park has been extended.The A+E is now 8am to 8pm so people seen quicker and more serious issues referred on elsewhere.The hospital also now has a uniform
