Prosper Fingal

Prosper Fingal

Prosper Fingal Ltd., formerly known as Fingal Workshop Ltd. was established in 1978. It was founded by a parents and friends organisation, The Fingal Association for the Handicapped, with the support of the local community and the region’s Health Board in response to the lack of appropriate disability services in the North County Dublin area. The organisation’s founding aim was to provide a local day service for adults within the moderate to mild range of intellectual disability, who were not in receipt of a service or attended one inappropriate to their needs.

Since its foundation, Prosper Fingal has grown significantly and developed an extensive range of services and supports for people with disabilities and their families, that are both centre and community-based. These services operate on the principle of person-centredness. A person-centred service is one that is provided, organised and designed around what is important to the service user from his or her own perspective. This approach looks at what is available in mainstream community services rather than limiting options available within specialised disability services.

Today, Prosper Fingal provides a wide range of complimentary services that respond to the needs, abilities and aspirations of its service users. They include Day Care programmes, Training (Vocational and Independent Living), Supported Employment, Sheltered Work, Community Support, Respite, Clinical Supports, Adult Education and Sport and Recreational Activities. This extensive range of person-centred programmes, coupled with the professional skills and dedication of our staff, enables the individual realise their potential and develop a more inclusive and independent life within the Community.

Prosper Fingal has a strong commitment to be both a quality service provider to people with disabilities and an employer that values and respects its workforce. Its performance is evaluated regularly against quality standards and best practice at Company and national level. These standards are designed to ensure that the quality of service provision is and remains consistently high.

We believe that we offer excellent terms and conditions of work for staff. Thank you for taking the time to consider your future with Prosper Fingal Ltd.

The Best Bits

Great staff and mangagement are very fair and understanding to work/life balance. Very person centred for service users. Freedom to think outside the box to support service users within the community.

Things to improve

Funding for more staff - an area most companies would benefit from!

The Best Bits

The staff team and the support we all give each other.

Things to improve

I feel that it is a company many people would find it hard to progress to higher roles.
