About Cornmarket Group Financial Services

We started life in 1972 as Savings & Investments Ltd and concentrated on providing public sector employees, in particular, with a broad range of financial services. In 1987, we became part of the Woodchester Group and, as Woodchester Brokers, continued to expand our services.

In 1999, the Company was purchased from GE Capital Woodchester – making it once again a wholly Irish-owned and independent brokerage. This change in status meant that we had to drop the name Woodchester.

Since mid-1999, we have been a member of the Irish Life Group of companies. We currently employ over 300 people throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. In addition to our Head Office at Christchurch Square, we have branch offices in Galway, Cork and Belfast.

We offer:

  • An excellent market driven remuneration package incorporating a very comprehensive salary and bonus arrangement
  • A challenging and exciting place to work with particular focus on the consistent achievement of high standards
  • Career development through on-the-job experience and through our promotion structure
  • Pension Scheme (qualifying period applies)
  • Health Insurance and Death-in-Service Schemes
  • Subsidised Health Insurance cover
  • Preferential personal loans
  • Education grants.
  • House and car insurance discounts

Cornmarket reviews

The best place to improve and learn new admin skills

Employee in Accountancy in Dublin, Ireland
former employee in 2018

The Best Bits

Strong work ethic yet very supportive Finance team, very equal to all colleagues of all levels. Would be much happier if given a chance to extend contract but it is only maternity cover, but the valuable resources provided should be enough for the next job hunting steps :)

Things to improve

The IT side: there is no sign of urgency, has this ticketing system which slows down the process.

About The Job

Typical admin role with Accounts Payable responsibilities

The Best Bits

They gave feee biscuits & the other team members were lovely

Things to improve

Keeping people down - not listening to experienced staff - less micro management- it was easier to phone in sick than get annual leave approved

About The Job

Outbound calls all day

I find the educational support offered by the company very beneficial. I have been offered courses that will help improve my knowledge of the financial services industry along with courses to improve myself as a supervisor. The atmosphere in the company is professional.. However, I have never had any difficulty approaching a colleague or manager for help or a second opinion. The management team in the company is extremely approachable.
Deirdre Cooke, (Customer Service Supervisor, Midas Department)
I started working in Cornmarket in June 2007 as a Junior Marketing Executive.. Everyone made me feel welcome and I always had someone there to answer my questions..I was delighted when I was promoted to the position of Marketing Executive in April 2008. Cornmarket also supported me when I wanted to go back and study Web design which I completed in May 2008. I have to say I really enjoy working here and there are a lot of opportunities to further my career.
Sinead Ryan, (Marketing Team Leader, Marketing Department)
