Concern Worldwide

Concern Worldwide

Concern Worldwide is a non–governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries.

Our mission is to help people living in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their lives, which last and spread without ongoing support from Concern. To this end, Concern work with the poor themselves, and with local and international partners who share our vision, to create just and peaceful societies where the poor can exercise their fundamental rights. We engage in long term development work, respond to emergency situations, and seek to address the root causes of poverty through our Development Education and Advocacy work.

The Best Bits

Flexible working times and city centre location make it attractive - not pay and benefits

Things to improve

Pay scales, career development, training opportunities all need massive improvement

The Best Bits

The staff are very dedicated to the cause, friendly and enthusiastic about the work

Things to improve

It is very hard to progress career wise within the organisation and there is not enough eeffort to invest in employees and enable them to upskill and seek promotion
