Bank of Ireland is the leading financial services provider in Ireland with a growing consumer financial services offering in the UK. We also have significant corporate banking and treasury businesses serving customers across Ireland, UK, Europe and the USA. For over 230 years, we have been helping people and businesses with all their financial needs – providing everything from current accounts to corporate finance. We were the first bank in Ireland to introduce ATMs, phone banking, online banking and mobile banking. Join our team for opportunity, challenge and an exciting place to work.

At Bank of Ireland, we are committed to ensuring that our customers feel the difference when they interact with us. This relentless focus on the Customer is underpinned by our commitment to delivering a differentiated customer experience through the development of a series of service and channel enhancements.

Supporting Business

At Bank of Ireland, supporting business is at the heart of what we do. That’s why we have expert Relationship Managers in branches all over the country, who are dedicated to supporting business in every community around Ireland.

Corporate Responsibility

Corporate Responsibility is about the contribution a business makes to its social and environmental concerns as well as its economic ones. At Bank of Ireland, these wider responsibilities have always been important to us, but never more so than today in what are extraordinarily difficult times for all our stakeholders - the stockholders who invest in us, the Irish Government which has provided essential supports to us, our customers who bank with us, our employees who work for us, the communities in which we do business and environment in which we live.

Our approach to doing business

At Bank of Ireland Group our approach to doing business is clear. We are committed to applying the highest standards of integrity in all our dealings and to operating at all times within legal and regulatory boundaries. We also recognise the importance of wider social, ethical and environmental considerations and we factor these into our business decisions

Why should you choose Bank of Ireland as a place to work ?

We are always looking for bright, ambitious people wanting to make a difference in a bank that puts its customers at the heart of everything it does. Typically, we look for people with a third level qualification however, in some roles, your Leaving Certificate or equivalent GCSEs will be sufficient (check the job spec). You don’t need to know everything about banking - we can teach you that - but you do need strong business acumen and the right attitude. We’re proud of our people and what they do. If you work for us with that same pride, you’ll find our bank is a super place to build a career

By applying to us, you are choosing opportunity, you are choosing challenge, and you are choosing a fantastic place to work. At Bank of Ireland you will have access to managers who are interested in your development, and opportunities to learn from an incredible and experienced team of people. So take the next step and be part of our future

Good Work / Life, poor culture and poor opportunities to advance career

Anonymous in Cabinteely, County Dublin, Ireland
current employee in _ 2018

The Best Bits

Good Work / Life balance, friendly staff and good approachable management.

Things to improve

There is a culture "this is the way it is always done". Poor progression opportunities with many going to people that know the management team. Offices are quite spread out and can be a hassle moving back and forth as part of this position. Nothing really changed since new CEO except cost reduction. As a former member of graduate programme, I feel we were pushed aside and seen as admins rather than looking to help progress out careers
