University College Cork (UCC) is the principal university in the province of Munster, and the largest outside Dublin. UCC is also a constituent university of the National University of Ireland. The present college was founded in 1845, but there has been an educational establishment in Cork for over 1,200 years. Its annual expenditure (turnover) is EUR150m (IR£70m), and it is engaged in a substantial capital development programme.
UCC has a student population of over 14, 500 (12, 000) students. Degrees are granted in all disciplines. There is a strong emphasis on research and the college has close connections with industry and with the local community.

The Department of Medicine wishes to recruit a Technical Officer who will play a key role in the Department’s teaching and learning and research activities. This will include technical support in undergraduate research projects.
The appointee will provide advice to the Dean, through the management of the administrative and educational functions of the School, and support the Departments & Units that constitute the School.
