St James’s Hospital

St James’s Hospital

St James's Hospital; Ireland's largest acute, general teaching hospital and centre for medical excellence.

Leading the way in health care innovation is something we pride ourselves on here at St. James's. Our initiatives ensure that as Ireland's leading health care institution we maintain the highest standard of both emergency and elective medical and surgical services.

We currently employ over 3,500 multidisciplinary staff and, as the only hospital in Ireland to have all its units on one site, there is a superb sense of community spirit and a congenial, open atmosphere. We encourage continual learning and professional development in a friendly environment where everyone's ideas make a difference - these are just a few of the reasons that make it so good to work here.

About St. James's Hospital
St. James's Hospital is the largest university teaching hospital in Ireland and continues to develop today. The Trinity College Health Services Centre opened on site in 1994, housing the Medical School, the Dietetics and Nutrition Unit, the School of Nursing, the Postgraduate Medical Centre and the Library of the Faculty of Health Sciences and will include the schools of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.

This myriad of traditions through which St James's developed gives the hospital a pride in its past, the drive to initiate new strategies in serving the whole community and the confidence to take healthcare forward.
