The Role
We have an immediate vacancy for trainee Accountant.

Key Accountabilities
The successful candidate will join the ZLAP Financial Reporting Team and assist with the preparation, analysis and review of the following:
- Monthly Group IFRS reporting.
- Ongoing analysis and interpretation of the financials to provide meaningful business insights to the various stakeholders.
- Operational reporting to and on behalf of the various stakeholders in the business.
- Expense reporting including planning, forecasting and commentary on variances to provide business insight for expense management.
- Managing all the financial and regulatory responsibilities of the ZLAP Italian Branch including local tax and GAAP requirements.
- Annual Statutory Financial Statements for ZLAP and it’s subsidiaries.
- Annual/quarterly returns to the Irish Financial Regulator and ensuring financial regulatory compliance.

In addition
- Developing ZLAP internal financial reporting to assist with the effective management of the business.
- Enhancing our SAP reporting capabilities to optimise the department’s efficiency and effectiveness through continually reviewing and challenging our processes/methodologies.
- Establishing and maintaining a robust internal control system throughout the business.
- Liaising with auditors, both internal and external, to ensure procedures, processes & controls are of the highest standard.
- Applying any new IFRS requirements and standards to existing systems and applications.

Skills and Experience
Technical Competencies:
- Third Level Qualification in Finance, Business or Maths
- Candidate will be expected to attain a professional accountancy qualification
- Good working knowledge of Excel would be advantageous

Non technical competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Be well organised and capable of working to tight daily and monthly deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills
- A confident communicator, a versatile team player and an ability to work on your own Initiative
- Excellent English is essential

- Working at all times in accordance with group/company policy and processes;
