The Role
As a Telephone based business Development Executive you will be responsible for developing relationships with a panel of brokers. This is a target based role in an exciting and high intensity environment. You will seek to increase individual brokers partnership with Zurich, generating significant new business opportunities whilst ensuring a high level of business retention in line with The Zurich Way.

Key Accountabilities
- Achieve GWP and profitability targets.
- Commit to and consistently follow the Zurich Broker Sales Process.
- High level of visibility via regular outgoing calls (call plan) and some broker office visits.
- Develop & maintain individual broker profile records via Zurich CRM software.
- Develop and devise an appropriate business plan with your Brokers.
- Deliver and promote Zurich HelpPoint.
- Work closely with Underwriting and other relevant departments developing relationships and collaborating to achieve Zurich’s goals.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Provide regular and timely management statistics in respect of Broker performance and work flows.
- Escalate important issues regarding renewals, acting in a proactive fashion to minimise impact on business as usual.

Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of underwriting and sales principles.
- Ability to understand, interpret and explain Zurich’s underwriting strategy and develop a high-level understanding of all segments.
- Broad knowledge of the insurance industry and associated products.
- Must be proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
- Willing to spend time externally with brokers securing new business and retaining existing business. - Ability to work on your own initiative and an excellent team player.
- Highly Numerate.
- Ability to network and influence others.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to interpret MI and financial data.
- The ideal candidate will have experience working in a brokerage, handling commercial insurance accounts.

Other
Occasional travel may be required with this role.
