Celestica currently has an opening for a Systems Technician. The role will provide production support in a highly automated production facility and to implement strategic and tactical enhancements to these systems, to provide a competitive advantage for manufacturing.

 

Systems Technician

 

Celestica currently has an opening for a permanent Systems Technician. The role will provide production support in a highly automated production facility and to implement strategic and tactical enhancements to these systems, to provide a competitive advantage for manufacturing.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot high-speed automated assembly machines
  • Develop and maintain machine PLC programs
  • Troubleshoot and replace faulty electrical components
  • Programming, calibration, and maintenance of robots
  • Installation and maintenance of laser marking equipment
  • Installation, configuration maintenance of barcode scanning equipment
  • Ensure full product tracking data captured at various process points
  • Contribute to efficiency improvement projects through code upgrades
  • Training of equipment techs in troubleshooting techniques
  • Provide technical support to multiple lines and record issue resolutions in central database
  • Work proactively to ensure performance targets are met
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of breaks and holiday cover
  • Knowledge of, and adherence to, the Galway Safety Statement and all aspects of safe working practices including, but not limited to, PPE, manual handling and chemical handling and awareness

Core Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of PLC code (Allan Bradley) development and maintenance
  • Software programming skills; C, and Visual Basic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • PC database creation, interrogation, and analysis

Typical Experience/Education:

  • System support to highly automated high-speed assembly lines
  • Allen Bradley PLC 5 & 5000, AB Control Logix or equivalent would be an advantage
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Cert/Diploma/Senior Trades in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in Industrial Automation discipline
  • 5+ years experience
