Stock Controller (UDC) 

United Drug provides healthcare logistics to pharmacies and hospitals, ensuring the right products are delivered to the right people at the right time, at the right price. Reporting to: Warehouse Supervisor/Warehouse Manager

Hours of Work: Various on the Day Shift – May be required to work outside core hours, including shift occasionally.

The overall purpose of this position is to assist the warehouse supervisor and or warehouse manager in coordinating the warehouse activities to ensure all tasks are completed within target time frames of receipt and according to Good Distribution Practice and Standard Operating Procedures. 


Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Engage in all UDC stock control activities which include but not limited to:
  • Make sure that stock accuracy is maintained throughout the warehouse
  • Assist in the preparation and the carrying out of stock takes and cycle counts when required
  • Liaise with customer services, telesales, Account managers, warehouse supervisors/team leads, sales and other members of staff across the Group as required.
  • Keep accurate KPI information and inform relevant parties.
  • Ensure rotation of stock on a FEFO basis/ shortest dated stock supplied first
  • Investigate and close queries
  • Maintain Daily Housekeeping standards.
  • Adhere to all SOP’s and GDP’s associated with area procedures.
  • Cultivate a good working relationship with other departments.
  • Actively Support ongoing Business changes excellence.

 

Person Specification:

  • High level of personal standards
  • 3rd level education in relevant disciplines (Business, Logistics, Engineering) would be an advantage
  • Ability to take initiative and work under pressure
  • Support flexible hours as the job demands
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Attention to detail and good follow through with a high level of accuracy
  • Change agent
  • Ability to work towards deadlines
  • Strong focus on customer needs and customer service.
  • Awareness of Health & safety and GDP requirements.
  • Ability to plan effectively is essential for this role
  • Strong Analytical Skills

Work Experience:

  • Previous Warehouse/Operational experience
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Computer skills essential
