Job Purpose:

Reporting to the EHS Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining EHS programmes within the company that meet best practices and fulfill the requirements of local Regulatory and Corporate EHS programmes.

As the facility handles very potent active pharmaceutical ingredients, an Industrial/occupational Hygiene qualification and experience is required or demonstrated equivalent Qualifications and experience with the potential to develop expertise in this area is required. The position will also require the ability to undertake and complete other duties that may arise and may require some travel as part of the position if the need arises in order to support site and GSE business requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

· Critically review, evaluate and technically support project proposals from an EHS perspective that arise within the manufacturing and support departments.

· Must be competent in the support and continuous development of a fully compliant Industrial Hygiene programme.

· Develop and support comprehensive EHS hazard identification and risk control programmes within the company.

· Drive and deliver continuous improvement in EHS performance within all aspects of the company's operations.

· Provide focus and leadership to achieve effective implementation and maintenance of comprehensive EHS programmes.

· Identify EHS training needs and develop and deliver programmes to meet these requirements.

· Maintain a clear understanding of EHS legislative requirements and new developments taking place in relation to regulatory requirements and best practices.

· Ability to work on and complete a diverse range of challenging EHS projects that require a broad range of EHS, technical and interpersonal skills.


Job Specification:

Job Knowledge / Technical Skills / Qualifications

– Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate qualification(s) in EHS.

– Ideally holds a specialist qualification/experience in Industrial/Occupational Hygiene and/or be in the process of obtaining professional membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH).

– Minimum of five years experience as an EHS Practitioner within a manufacturing environment and preferably within a pharma-chemical manufacturing operation.

– Demonstrated ability to work on ones own initiative and deal with a challenging workload & changing priorities.

– Logical thinker and demonstrated capability and competencies in EHS.

– Capable of preparing short term and long strategies and with an ability to execute them in full in order to achieve EHS Excellence.

o Motivated and enthusiastic about EHS and capable of implementing new ideas and approaches to EHS Demonstrated problem solving ability and use of relevant tools.

o Strong technical ability with a demonstrated "hands on approach" to problem solving. Builds trust and fosters collaboration.

o Results orientated with a proven ability to deliver continuous EHS improvements

o Good communication skills. Capable of working effectively as a team player and influencing key individuals. Competent & respected EHS leader for their technical ability.

o Capable of leading and participating in projects coupled with giving technical direction and advice on EHS issues.

o Exhibits Courage & Candor when required in order to meet the expectations of achieving "EHS Excellence".
