Software Developer in Test / Test Automation Engineer (.NET)

At BearingPoint Ireland, we are growing quickly and have a number of exciting new projects to challenge the very best Software Developers in Test / Test Automation Engineer (.NET).  We are working with a wide range of clients, on a number of complex projects that are transforming the way business is being done in Ireland. 

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Software Developer in Test / Test Automation Engineer (.NET) to join a growing QA team with a chance to shape its direction and work in partnership with our Development team.  As a Software Developer in Test / Test Automation Engineer (.NET), you will join a team delivering a range of enterprise and webs solutions for our clients using the latest technologies and gain experience working in large scale enterprise systems.

 

The role:
The Software Developer in Test / Test Automation Engineer (.NET) will be responsible for ensuring that our software projects conform to quality requirements and meet performance standards.  You will write test cases and plan, design, develop and maintain automation tools to identify problems before they become problems.  This role is suited to a software developer who has a real passion for software testing.   This role is for a perm or contract position.

 

The candidate should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ working as a software test engineer designing and developing automated tests using VB / C#
  • Experience working with Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio
  • Strong knowledge of .NET Framework
  • Experience testing thick client and web applications, API, and Web Services
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server - run queries, read stored procedures and troubleshoot problems
  • Experience with Continuous Integration
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to meet project testing goals
  • Initiative to learn new skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (including fluent English)
  • A keen interest in technology
  • Third level qualification in Computer Science / Engineering or a related discipline

 

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with Fitnesse
  • Experience in performance testing
