Senior Technical Trainer

The Segment

Our world-leading access control, video and intrusion brands - American Dynamics, Bentel, CEM Systems, DSC, Kantech, Software House and Sur-Gard - have more combined years of experience in the security industry than any other group in the world. Our security integration platforms, built by our developers from across all product disciplines allow our customers to see more, do more, and save more. The graduate would report to the NPI Manager.

Job Overview

Within the role of Senior Technical Trainer, the successful candidate will report to the L3 Technical Support manager. For the role, we require an energetic individual who can work closely with engineers and product managers to research, prepare and produce hardware and software documentation including product operation guides, training materials and on-line help. The position requires solid technical aptitude, excellent writing and editing skills, familiarity with industry standard writing tools and the ability to complete projects with minimal supervision.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Trainer your days will include: the produce accurate, high quality, well written product documentation in coordination with product subject matter experts and the Technical Publications team, perform project management tasks related to a set of documentation deliverables, driving and coordinating a project from beginning to end, create training curricula and documentation, including multimedia delivery and ensure documentation is written in a way that aids training delivery.


Required profile:

Essential Education & Experience

To be considered for this role you will need to be degree qualified or equivalent combination of education and job experience as a Technical Writer or Senior Technical Writer with demonstrable experience in the required tools.

Essential Competencies & Skills

As a Senior Technical Trainer you will need have a background in: Technical writing experience, with a lucid and concise writing style, preparing technical training material, delivering technical training courses, be able to extract information from product experts and communicating that information in a succinct, straightforward style in technical documentation, be familiar with software packages such as use of Microsoft Office, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, Corel Paint Shop Pro and HTML and also be able to listen and communicate effectively with a broad cross-section of co-workers and customers

It would also be a benefit to your application if you have experience of CCTV systems (preferably systems involving IP cameras and PC-based Digital Video Recorders), software product documentation within software company, SQL and networking knowledge.
