Responsibilities of the Senior Technical Support Specialist – Middleware:

  • Providing senior level support, specialising in Middleware technologies, particularly Weblogic, Websphere Application Server and MQ
  • Infrastructure support for customers in Dublin, London and Germany
  • Implementation of system changes, some out-of-hours
  • Incident & Problem Management
  • Application Deployment, some out-of-hours
  • Infrastructure Capacity planning and management
  • Participating in 24*7 oncall rota

Skills of the Senior Technical Support Specialist – Middleware:

  • A third level IT qualification or equivalent IT experience
  • A minimum of 7 years IT experience, with 4 years working in a Middleware environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • The ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong technical expertise in Weblogic, Websphere Application Server and MQ (essential)
  • The ability to make design decisions and to operate independently
  • Enthusiasm to learn new technologies
  • The ability to take ownership of issues and responsibility for same
  • Willingness to work out of hours on occasion
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Disaster Recovery planning and experience

Experience in the following technologies would be an advantage:

  • Internet technologies
  • SSL Security and Certificate Management
  • Cloud technologies
  • SSL Security and Certificate Management
  • LDAP
  • Citrix
  • ESX / VMWare
  • Apache / IBM HTTP Server
