The Role:

Aviva Health has an opportunity for a Senior Claims Quality Assurance Specialist position in our Claims Department to promote quality achievement and performance improvement within the claims team.  The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist will communicate directly with the Quality Assurance team in indemnifying trends, analysing data and assuring accuracy and consistency of all reports.

We are seeking a candidate who has gained significant experience in a claims role within the GI, Health, Life, or Pensions area.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the management of workflow within our Third Party Administrator ensuring quality and service level agreements are met and maintained
  • Monitors through analysis of QA reports and activities to identify trends, successful practices, achievement of goals and areas needing improvement, ensuring corrective actions are put in place.
  • Plans, schedules, and conducts monitoring on reports on a weekly basis.  Reviews and summarises reports to Head of Operations.
  • Carrys out Claims Leakage assessments & build action plans to resolve issues
  • Ensure that agreed QA requirements and set percentages are completed on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensure that all Regulated reports including monthly Risk and Compliance reports are maintained and completed.
  • Involvement in key projects focused on developing and enhancing our operational capabilities and involvement in the testing of key developments within claims.
  • May assist with or conduct training for staff in order to improve quality on claims processing.
  • Be part of the Health Claims team and ensure knowledge of all other team member tasks where required.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience required

  • One of the following professional qualifications is required – PMI Dip, ACII, CIP or QFA with a bridge to GI.
  • Ideally 5 years experience in claims processing and claims service delivery.
  • Experience of Quality Assurance is required and leakage processes would be an advantage.
  • Strong evidence of relationship management & people management skills
  • Experienced in developing and enhancing core business processes
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • An ability to work enthusiastically on own initiative and as part of a team to agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to get work done through a dedicated team of people
  • Capacity to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines
  • A proficiency in relating effectively to customers at all levels in the Company.
  • An organised approach to work and attention to detail are necessary requirements of the position.
