Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify and manage regulatory requirements
  • Monitor the application of relevant regulations by the business and report to senior management
  • Identify, recommend and implement additional or enhanced procedures to maintain the required control environment
  • Deal with interactions with the Central Bank and other regulatory agencies, as part of regular reporting requirements
  • Interpret and provide guidance to senior management and operational areas in relation to regulatory change
  • Provide regulatory advice and guidance to business areas
  • Maintain regulatory databases and associated monitoring activities
  • Involvement with the business on projects which have a regulatory/compliance aspect
  • Develop and provide training to the business on compliance and regulatory matters
 

Key Technical / Functional Knowledge, Skills, Experience, & Capabilities Required:

 

  • Significant compliance experience within a financial services environment
  • Deep understanding of regulations relating to life assurance
  • Experience of developing and managing compliance monitoring programmes
  • Experience of working with the Central Bank
  • Ability to prepare reports to senior management and the board
  • Articulate, effective communication skills
  • Proven people management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office and database application
  • Flexible and proactive with ability to work on own initiative
