Applications are invited for the following position:



Quality and Standards Officer, 35 hours per week, permanent position.



Location is flexible as this position has a national brief.



National Learning Network is an independent, national organisation that provides training and development services in over 50 locations.  The Accreditation, Standards & Supports Department provides an integrated and consistent approach to service design, policy development, service delivery practices and quality. The organisation works with a range of mandatory and elective quality systems including the FETAC QA Guidelines, FAS Training Standards System, Business Excellence and the European Quality Award in Social Services (EQUASS). 



The primary role of the Quality & Standards Officer is to promote and support National Learning Network's quality systems by providing a range of information, advice and support functions to the regions and centres.



The position holder will be part of the Accreditation, Standards & Supports team which  supports National Learning Network's continuous improvement and service development activities.





The suitable candidate will have:



- A number of years relevant experience.

- Third level qualification in a relevant discipline.

- A strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

- Knowledge and experience of quality audits and systems with a high level of attention to detail.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of Information Technology systems and packages.

- Ability to work on own initiative.

- Full clean driving licence.

Job Title: Quality & Standards Officer





Reporting To: Head of Accreditation, Standards & Supports





Purpose of Job



National Learning Network is an independent, national organisation that provides training and development services in over 50 locations. The Accreditation, Standards & Supports department provides an integrated and consistent approach to service design, policy development, service delivery practices and quality. The organisation works with a range of mandatory and elective quality systems including the FETAC QA Guidelines, FAS Training Standards System, Business Excellence and the European Quality Award in Social Services (EQUASS).



The primary role of the Quality & Standards Officer is to promote and support National Learning Network's quality systems by providing a range of information, advice and support functions to the regions and centres.



The position holder will be part of the Accreditation, Standards & Supports team that supports National Learning Network's continuous improvement and service development activities.





Key Tasks



1. Provide information and training to regional staff and operational managers in all matters relating to quality systems and compliance with national standards.



2. Lead the organisation's application and preparation for external quality awards.



- 3. Co-ordinate the organisation's Continuous Improvement Review system to ensure that programmes and services are monitored and evaluated in a systematic and thorough manner.



- 4. Carry out periodic audits of programmes and services.



5. Develop and monitor Management Information Systems to support achievement of quality related objectives.



6. Make recommendations on new quality systems and structures related to new business development.



7. Liaise with external agencies and other Rehab Group divisions to facilitate a coherent group-wide approach to quality assurance.



8. Maintain a high level of internal and external communications within the area of responsibility and ensure that the ethical standards of the organisation are adhered to.



9. Contribute to the continuous improvement activities of National Learning Network and promote a culture of excellence throughout its activities and services.



10. Perform any other duties within the general requirement of the above specification that may be required from time to time by the Head of Accreditation, Standards & Supports.





Person Specification



- Third level qualification in a relevant discipline.
