Working within the Engineering PMO, the Project Manager takes responsibility for the entire development cycle, from receipt of Product Management requirements to the delivery of Engineering projects to the Openet Services teams providing the necessary support to ensure successful client site deployment. The Project Manager must have the ability to manage a number of projects concurrently and to exemplary standards, have a very clear delivery focus and be adept at managing change. They must have a commercial awareness; manage delivery to customers and energy to play a leading role in new business initiatives.  The Project Manager should be an effective communicator both within their peer group and to the Openet Management team on project level KPIs.
This is a hands-on role that covers all areas of project management, including managing a team of Software Developers, co-ordinating the deliveries and integration of deliverables from different teams or departments within Openet engineering, controlling the quality of the solution, interfacing with internal customers and Product Management, Actively involved in risk mitigation and control of issues as well as facilitating post-implementation reviews.
Ideally the Project Manager will have a strong engineering background in a software development environment and thorough knowledge of telecommunications software.

The main tasks and responsibilities of the project manager are:
• Taking responsibility for all aspects of the delivery of projects.
• Interfacing with Product Management and Alliances teams for commercial items.
• Working across all Engineering teams with regards to the product release to ensure delivery of functionality as committed to Customer.
• Preparing and planning projects, and driving those plans through to a successful conclusion.
• Managing and tracking effort, cost, progress and highlighting ways to keep the project on track in spite of issues – "can do" attitude is essential.
• Delivering the resultant projects on time and to budget, managing expectations and handling issues as required.
• Have an in depth technical knowledge of the product framework that allows them to effectively address issues to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
• Ability to clearly monitor and report to Openet senior management and Customers on project progress with respect to effort, cost and duration and key milestones.
• Manage risks and issues and be in a position to concisely present status at any time to management.
• Assist in interviewing and resourcing project teams.
• Managing project teams and individual feature teams of varying sizes; sometimes located in different sites and time zones. Maintaining group dynamic to facilitate individuals working as a team.
• Providing clear leadership to the team and making informed decisions on various options presented.

• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience, and a minimum 8-10 years industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years experience in a Project Management role.
• Previous software development experience in Telco.
• Proven track record of successful delivery of software projects with large customers.
• Project Management experience in an Agile development environment
• Customer management experience
• Delivery of complex products to multiple customers; experience of managing a complex systems integration project.
• Team leadership.
• Content of industry experience and ability to clearly describe complex technical content.
• Software Product development experience
• Used to working under pressure.
• Proven record of planning and delivery of product/projects to customers.
