Responsibilities:

As a result of new and expanding business opportunities, Stantec's Power group is currently seeking a Project Manager in our Calgary Office. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead assigned projects from inception to completion, which may include commissioning, handover and warranty management
  • Negotiate project scope and key performance indicators with clients
  • Building long term business relationships with the client and client’s management
  • Work with client through the idea generating stage
  • Lead scoping studies and feasibility studies
  • Plan, organize and manage the day to day activities of the project by planning the project, delegation of responsibilities and establish the quality management program
  • Act as the owner's representative in the initial stages of the projects
  • Project planning and scheduling
  • Manage the project in accordance with the project scope,  budget and schedule, including work breakdown structure (WBS), workforce planning and resource allocations
  • Reporting the progress of the project to the client


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited post-secondary institution, or will consider relevant education and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in a consulting environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset but is not mandatory
  • Familiarity with MS Project, Prolog and/or Projectwise management tools would be an asset
  • Be able to demonstrate solid leadership and communication skills
  • Well versed in commonly used project delivery models
  • Strong understanding and experienced in planning/scheduling techniques and cost and risk management
  • Experience with the management of projects in an industrial environment
