Production Planner | Food Industry | County Armagh


Vickerstock are assisting a leading food manufacturing and production organisation with multiple sites across the UK and Ireland in the recruitment of a Production Planner. The Production Planner will report into the Planning Manager and will be primarily responsible for planning and scheduling all raw materials, ingredients and packaging in line with the site production plan demands.



As a Production Planner in a busy, fast paced FMCG Company you will work alongside the production and planning teams and will manage a new MRP / ERP system to ensure optimisation of the production pan and to deliver high levels of customer service by continually achieving production KPI's.



The Production Planner will be responsible for the following duties within the role:

  • Plan, forecast and schedule for the production department utilizing all available resources including equipment, labour, materials and energy with a focus on minimal wastage.
  • Producing detailed production plans using the MRP system and effectively communicating that with the production team.
  • Review outputs from the MRP system in line with the production schedule and tailor plans as required or where improvements can be made.
  • Monitor stock levels and expedite raw materials and packaging items in line with production demand.
  • Notify the Purchasing manager and planner of any major supply issues that may affect the production program.
  • Liaise with planning to ensure manufacturing plan is met and to notify any potential shortfalls or difficulties in supply.
  • Work in close conjunction with procurement and warehousing teams to keep up with material demands.
  • Attend and participate in daily operations meetings in regards to production scheduling effectiveness.
  • Work to achieve high levels of on time and in full scheduled orders for customers.


Criteria/Essential Experience

The Production Planner must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Educated to Diploma or higher level OR have 2+ years' experience in a similar role using MRP / ERP systems on a regular basis
  • IT system affluent with an ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Experience of purchasing, planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment (preferably food)
  • Ability and understanding to work with ERP / MRP systems


This is a full time permanent role on day shift Monday to Friday.


Salary: Dependent on Experience
