Recruitment Plus is currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager in the Co. Louth area.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing organisation with a multinational organisation.

The successful person will be responsible for all material supplies, that all company products are delivered, both internally and externally, on time and in the right quantities and to the right quality. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in setting up or improving supply chain operations, from day to day activities right up to participation on long term company objectives. Must have strong communication and negotiation skills. 

Experience in healthcare, clean room-pharmaceutical or fast moving consumable goods background is strongly desirable, ideally with international experience.

Location: Co Louth, Commutable from Dublin City Center, Dublin North, Dublin West, Meath, Monaghan, Cavan and Co. Down.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Third level qualification in business, management, logistics, warehousing
  • Experience in international/global supply chain management
  • 8+ years’ experience in supply chain management including 5 years at management level
  • Experience of SCM in the food, pharmaceutical or FMCG sectors
  • Strongly customer-oriented with an emphasis on over-delivering
  • Innovative and creative; driven towards leading the business forward
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead an coordinate
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite applications, sales database, and web applications Flexibility to travel as required

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to company strategic development of our full Supply Chain
  • Preparing annual plans and budgets in liaison with Executive and Senior managers, and ensure their implementation
  • Devise and implement KPIs that enable effective and transparent performance management of the entire supply chain process
  • Review performance against plans - implement agreed change where necessary
  • Manage the process of developing a demand plan which flows into the planning process, aligning procurement, raw materials, manufacturing and distribution activities to meet with service levels
  • Ensure all purchasing and materials (supply and delivery) systems are operated and maintained in an up to date and accurate manner while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of appropriate systems and procedures for supply chain control; and implementing all systems and procedures successfully
  • Ensure the highest quality of raw goods procured, received, stored and transferred internally; and the quality of finished goods stored, transferred and delivered both internally and externally
  • Oversee the management of our transport partners, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous process improvement and best practice
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards
  • Ensure the realization of the sales & operational planning (S&OP) process for the region, to meet business targets of service, competitiveness, quality & sales objectives
  • Manage supply chain costs and all aspects of material inventory to minimize adverse stock holding impact on working capital in close collaboration with Finance
  • Manage and resolve supply issues; ensure implementation of risk management initiatives to prevent stock outs and ensure implementation of policies and procedures during product shortages
  • Collaborate with cross functional team for the development and implementation of the supply chain strategic plan
  • Define and deploy a logistics strategy to support all locations
  • Regular analysis of costs of movement of goods, and benchmarking against alternative providers
  • Develop logistics budget in cooperation with Finance Department and negotiate costs and set up contracts accordingly
  • Ensure master data is regularly and accurately maintained to support business processes
  • Develop and operate effective management processes including regular reports and meetings, as required to support the delivery of the KPIs
  • Work closely with 3rd party warehouse providers to ensure customer deliveries are shipped in a timely manner
  • Responsible for reviewing the logistics component of all contracts in place with customers (existing and new) to ensure any agreed obligations are possible to fulfil
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy and reports to finance for monthly closing
  • Daily correspondence with warehouse to advise book ins and confirm receipted quantities
  • Provide effective management & leadership to the supply chain team to ensure improvements to compliance, processes, systems and operational efficiency
  • Establish region specific needs for the transition of product and implement systems and processes, which reduce time to market and promote efficient and flexible supply
  • Create a performance driven culture and robust supply chain team, which is capable of taking on new products, which transition post acquisition.
