 Therole of Continuous Improvement Engineer is to improve product and processquality, reduce down time and cost, and to strengthen problem solving and errorproofing throughout the company. To deliver projects as determined and scopedby the company within agreed time lines and budgets.


·        Leadcross-functional teams to investigate and troubleshoot key areas of companyconcerns using a structured approach, such as Six-Sigma methodology.

·        Defineand execute projects in a time and resource efficient manner controllingassociated budgets.

·        Achieveproject goals as agreed with the management team.

·        Targetprojects which will have the biggest impact in terms of improving key businessmetrics.

·        Setup robust data collection systems that will support and drive projects andtheir continued monitoring after completion.

·        Usingbest practices, identify areas of improvements in order to reduce variances inproduct, practice, and processes

·        Giveguidance to cross functional Core Teams and Green Belt Engineers in relation toprojects/tasks under their control

·        Throughanalysis of existing metrics and data, identify areas of potential concernbefore they arise and take action to prevent occurrence of the failure

·        Driveand create a culture of continuous improvement within all areas of the company.

·        Upskill the current technical resources to manage and support improvementprojects in all areas of the business.

·        Draftand present project plans and reviews to the management team and other relevantstake holders.


Qualifications &Experience required:

·        Degreein Engineering or Science discipline

·        Willideally hold a lean six sigma black belt qualification

·        Hasa proven track record in managing a number of successful projects through tocompletion.

·        Proventrack record in Project Planning and Execution.

·        Ideallyhold a lean six sigma qualification and working towards black beltaccreditation.

·        Astrong working knowledge of plastics and plastic processing technologies wouldbe a distinct advantage.

·        Experiencein a medical device/pharmaceutical and/or diagnostics manufacturing industry isnecessary.

·        Musthave a good working knowledge of the medical device industry and ofISO13485:2003, specifically in the areas of Change Control and Validation.

·        Mustbe innovative and have a good technical aptitude.
