Process Engineer /Production Manager Co. Monaghan – D004832

Recruitment Plus is currently recruiting for a Process Engineer / Production Manager in Co. Monaghan who will be responsible for:

1, Production site:

Management of all production operations including the managing & motivating of the Production Team (General Operatives, Line Leaders) plus take responsibility for the consistent & constant improvement of target product yields and for the improvement of key processing and manufacturing operations, in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.

2, Process site: would have responsibility to ensure that the plants main operational objectives are achieved and the Lean Manufacturing methodologies are developed and sustained throughout the continuous production process, maintaining clear lines of communication with the Production Teams.

Location: Role is commutable from Co. Louth, Meath, Cavan and parts of Co. Down.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate will come from mechanical / electrical /engineering background with strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and proven portfolio project within projects engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Proven people and KPI management skills
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems (FMECA, SPC, Metrology, 6M, 5W, …)
  • Knowledge of mechanical & electrical automation design & systems & components
  • Strong cross functional project management skills
  • Degree qualification in process or mechanical engineering and 5+ years, experience of continuous process manufacturing. Also consider Degree qualifications in Science & Engineering.
  • Certificate of 6 Sigma Black Belt[BB] or Lean Master is an advantage
  • Good negotiating and communication skills within a Unionised environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To optimise the overall Plant performance by ensuring budgeted production yields & occupation times are achieved - improved and where necessary reviewing the use of raw materials and the setting of line speeds & feeds etc.)
  • To manage and motivate the entire Production Team (Line Leaders, General Operatives), ensuring correct manning and multi-skill levels are maintained for the various operations plus relevant training & coaching is provided so as operators have a good understanding and operation of the production equipment.
  • To manage and participate in all daily/weekly meetings in relation to Production-Process Control - Planning – H&S - Quality - R&D & Maintenance and ensuring all relevant information is communicated to the Line Leaders plus all other relevant personnel.
  • To manage the daily production / process line problems and implement technical solutions or adjustments if necessary, in consultation with other departments as appropriate (Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, R&D ).
  • To formalise and maintain up to date production process documentation, technical specifications and ensure all standard operating procedures and training instructions are compatible with all the ongoing process changes that may occur.
  • To ensure all Company Policies, and House Agreement Rules are adhered to by the Production Team and along with the Line Leaders and the General Manager, maintain good, H&S / Working conditions / Quality standards plus manage any disciplinary, attendance, timekeeping, and holiday issues that may arise.
  • To assess and lead regular audits of production lines and propose process improvements to improve plant manufacturing KPI’s and CI standards re yields, speeds, and occupation times.
  • To liaise with suppliers or contractors for small modifications, and propose capital projects for large scale modifications.
  • To Define goals, content and schedule of assigned Continuous Improvement (CI) programs/projects in line with plant strategy, roadmap and targets.
