The Process Development Engineer will be responsible for leading the development of new manufacturing technologies in our design services product manufacturing business.  During the development phase of the projects, he/she will work with the project development teams and during the product commercialisation he/she will work with the product transfer team.
The position will be based in our Parkmore facility in Galway, Ireland. 
 
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead process development for products on development projects, working as part of the project team.
• Develop and install new manufacturing and process technologies to support product development and product transfers.
• Establish processes based on product specifications.
• Evaluate process and design alternatives based on Design for Manufacturability principles.
• Understand principles of lean manufacturing, problem solving, DOE.
• Have appreciation for Cost of Goods Sold.
• Be responsible for process development with the appropriate Creganna design control and quality systems procedures.
• Complete process validation for new processes and products including IQ, OQ, PQ & PPQ.
• Working with external vendors to specify, develop and commission new process technology.
• Selection and training of process technicians and product builders, as required.
• Responsibility for and understand for work environment issues including H&S activities associated with new process development.

Key Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline, with 2yrs+ (preferable 5yrs +) experience of working with manufacturing technology a requirement. 
• Previous experience of working within a medical device environment would be a distinct advantage.
• Proven ability to conceptualise and deliver automated solutions a requirement.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to work within a product development project team taking responsibility for the product development piece.
• Motivated to work on own initiative.
