Practitioner / Manager Required

The Priory Clinic invites applications for the position of Manager Practitioner. 

The Priory Clinic is a provider of hands-on treatment for back pain, soft tissue injury and musculoskeletal problems.  As such it is part of the “IPTAS Network” within which career opportunities arise from time to time in the area of practise, teaching and clinical supervision.

With a head office in Stillorgan, County Dublin since 1992 and a second office in Kimmage, Dublin 6, it has acquired and equipped a prime location for a third Clinic in the heart of Limerick City for which a Practitioner / Manager is currently required.

 

The position would appeal to an individual qualified to degree level and interested in working with private clients treating musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.  It is an opportunity to move or build a new multi-disciplinary practise with the benefit of full support from an established brand.  The focus will be in the area of musculoskeletal care.    As the lead practitioner builds their own business they will also be the challenge and opportunity to gradually recruit complementary practitioners to build a Priory Team include perhaps, Therapists, Strength/Conditioning/Exercise coaching, Pilates Instruction and so on.

 

It will suit a highly motivated and ambitious team player, seeking self-employment and having an array of treatment, marketing and management skills.  Enthusiasm, education, people skills and work ethic are emphasised above experience. 

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

 

  • ·     Plan, prepare and carry out initial consultation
  • ·     Carry out and document a full assessment of presenting problems
  • ·     Perform and document initial treatment
  • ·     Evaluate the effects of ongoing treatment and adjust as required
  • ·     Confer with the patient, other health professionals and family
  • ·     Prescribe and demonstrate appropriate home care exercises
  • ·     Identify, discuss, agree and document goals of treatment
  • ·     Provide information to patient about alternatives.
  • ·     Work within the limits of competency
  • ·     Refer when diagnosis reveals findings outside of scope
  • ·     Support other health professionals and contribute to clinical research
  • ·     Contribute to the planning, promotion and management of the clinic and practise
  • ·     Promote Clinic and support in-house marketing initiatives
  • ·     Answer queries from potential patients
  • ·     Update databases and records

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

 

  • ·     Good Computer/Keyboarding skills are required
  • ·     Familiarity required with MS Office Software
  • ·     Excellent listening, explaining and communications skills are needed
  • ·     Professionalism in all aspects of behaviour is a must
  • ·     Maintaining client confidentiality is a must
