PD2 or Research Fellow

 

One of UCD’s contributions to the EPA funded Pathways project is to build a GIS-based catchment management tool to support decision making in relation to the implementation of the Water Framework Directive in Ireland. The hydrological modelling component for this tool is being developed by a team based in the Centre for Water Resources Research. The final tool will integrate EPA and other data sets and numerical models in an easy to use, practical tool, based on Quantum GIS, PostGIS and PostgreSQL This position is for a specialist to implement all the, modelling, database and data handling requirements (e.g. using Quantum GIS, PostGIS and any other necessary tools) with the models developed in CWRR and expand on and improve an existing simple easy to use graphical user interface for the final system.
