Meetings and Events Sales Executive

to join our team.



The Meetings and Events Sales Executive's responsibility is to work with the Events team for all bedroom and meeting & events enquiries. To provide excellent guest service and genuine hospitality by creating memorable luxury experience in line with the hotel and Company standards.  To assist and support the meeting & event teams to strive to surpass guest's expectations, while achieving budget.  The role will contribute to all aspects of the department to ensure a high standard of professionalism throughout the hotel.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM), this role will manage from enquiry to contract all meeting & event bookings over 10 rooms. 
  • To support the Meeting & Events Manager in the smooth day to day running of the meeting & events department in the Hotel.
  • To assist the DOSM and Senior Management Team in the preparation and management of the department budget and to support colleagues in achieving the hotel budget targets.
  • To attend trade shows to meet the client base, with some international travel required. 
  • To conduct full site inspections of the hotel introducing the Senior Management team as appropriate.
  • To be fully prepared for client meetings to ensure the successful conversion of leads.
  • To yield and identify need periods and conduct pro active Sales calls in order to reach budget targets.
  • To work in partnership with preferred suppliers to support their role.
  • To attend weekly revenue and management meetings to highlight need dates and expected meeting & events business.
  • To participate and identify key publications to assist in highlighting the meeting & event facilities of the hotel. 
  • To "surprise and delight" our guests whenever possible.

  • To maintain a high level of competitor awareness and local trends and to continue to drive the memorable luxury experience in reaching the standard of a 5 star hotel
  • To carry out duty manager shifts as business required and to play an active role in meeting & event hotel operations.
  • Sets departmental and individual goals (both revenue and sales)
  • Handling all enquiries in a professional manner
  • Ensure there is fluid communication of all events to all hotel departments

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Must have previous Meeting & Events experience in a similar role, ideally in a 5 star international hotel.
  • Must be flexible, enjoy a challenge, and is able to work outside the comfort zone while maintaining the ability to be objective and positive.
  • Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service.
  • Must have the ability to lead, multi-task and make sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of opera or similar package.
