Objective:

This role is to provide medical leadership and operational management to the irish affiliate incorporating the initiation, development and delivery of expert medical and scientific activity to optimise and achieve stakeholder objectives for assigned products and therapy areas.

Overview:

Provide medical and scientific expertise and ensure effective cross-functional working, in particular, the development and implementation of Medical strategy including the delivery of relevant clinical insights, internal and external scientific product presentations and training, publication plan development and implementation, external advisory board meetings and symposia, management of grant requests, and the review and approval of promotional and scientific materials

Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with key external experts, HCPs, government authorities, funding bodies and other entities, and facilitate appropriate medical and scientific information exchange. This will include regular field visits.

Support the conduct of company sponsored research and identify potential clinical trial/NIS leads.

Identify and Develop Medical Projects

Be responsible for the provision of high quality and timely medical information in response to requests from the field.

Be responsible for the line management and development of all members of the Medical team in Ireland

 

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

A medical/pharmacy/PHD qualification with a full, registered licence to practice if appropriate

Experience of working within the pharmaceutical industry and with the IPHA Code

Strong evidence of experience of Irish medical practice, including structure and patient pathways

Knowledge of Irish health service

Knowledge of the IPHA Code

Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills and data sharing

Attention to detail and organisation

Previous Medical Advisor or Medical Liaison Experience required.

Previous Experience/Knowledge or Clinical Expertise in Neurology a distinct advantage

• Full Irish driving licence

• Flexibility to travel throughout Ireland and overseas when needed

• Fluent knowledge of English (spoken and written) and good report writing skills

• Excellent communication skills, including presentations to healthcare professionals

• Flexible, independent, and proactive working style

• Self-starter and able to work in a team

• Attention to detail essential
