 Houghton Mifflin Harcourt International is the division responsible for the management and growth of HMH international business.  The division consists of a team of Sales Representatives, Consultants, Finance and a Sales and Marketing Support Team.

 

The Opportunity

The International Marketing Specialist will develop close relationships with HMH’s varied and numerous partners around the world with the objective for them to be able to localise, manufacture, promote and market the HMH catalogue of products in their given country.

The role will also have primary responsibility for implementing digital marketing and leveraging social media channels in order to build customer relationships and drive lead generation and sales pipeline. It is a fundamental responsibility of this position to support the internal sales and development division in order to successfully promote the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt catalogue of products.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • driving demand generation activities to teachers and education/curriculum decision makers in targeted geographies. Activities would include online events & seminars, email campaigns, partner events etc
  • coordinating product market launch initiatives such as customer, partner and sales team training, sales, go to market sales kits and online support.

  • To manage the relationship with HMH Partners by providing support to them on the following:

-      New product releases

-      Marketing initiatives, including the approval of localized text and artwork for international marketing materials

-      Planning for and participation at trade shows

-      Implementing Digital marketing campaigns

-      Organization of training for partner sales teams

-      Liaising with internal divisions such as Engineering Development and the Archive Team in relation to partner requests

 

  • The support of the HMH  Sales and Business Development Team activities including

-      Marketing updates

-      Collateral marketing materials

-      Product updates and samples

-      Pricing of HMH digital software & proposals

-      Point of contact for pricing & product questions

-      Demo logins

-      Presentations

 

  • The management and co-ordination of finished goods product orders to the US purchasing department. This includes:

-      Quotes to customers

-      Customer liaison follow up on order

-      Order tracking

-      Payment collection

-      Financial reconciliation at quarter end

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified to Degree level in Marketing or Business
  • 3-5 years’ proven sales experience, with strong negotiation skills
  • 3 years’ experience successfully supporting a sales team in a target driven environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Effective influencing skills
  • Knowledge of the technology, education or publishing sectors
  • A driven, self-starter and creative thinker who will act on market requirements
  • Experience establishing and managing relationships throughout the industry, at all levels
  • Solution-orientated approach to sales with ability to identify growth opportunities
  • Fluent English
