Reporting to the Engineering Lead, the Process Craft Technician will be responsible for the hands-on operation and maintenance of process, utility and facility equipment to support manufacturing operations and maximise asset performance.

Duties include:

- Carrying out all routine and non-routine tasks delegated according to appropriate procedures and standards.

- Repairing equipment malfunctions (mechanical).

- Executing site preventive maintenance routines.

- Assisting in construction, commissioning and qualification of equipment.

- Developing maintenance procedures and equipment files. Assisting with generation, review and revision of maintenance documentation as necessary.

- Selecting of appropriate spare parts to ensure maximum availability of equipment.

- Operating Biologics utilities and equipment safely and efficiently, whilst maximizing uptime.

- Collecting and analysing equipment data to report on equipment performance.

- Assisting with rolling shutdown preparation and execution.

- Training other staff in department procedures and techniques, as required.

- Operate, troubleshoot, maintain and support Utility and Manufacturing equipment to support the Biologics Process Team (IPT) to enable the manufacture of quality pharmaceutical products.

- Responsible and accountable for the safe accomplishment of all activities within the Biologics team whilst following all statutory, environmental, regulatory (cGMP), corporate, site and team practices.

- Reporting any EHS incidents and/or near misses.

- Ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained to a high standard within the Biologics IPT.

- Support efficient and safe daily operations of the Biologics equipment as required whilst maximizing uptime.

- Assist Biologics engineering in executing projects..

- Perform all necessary maintenance PMs and repairs.

- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment while maintaining production schedule.

- Supporting a culture of Continuous Improvement by participating in MSD Six Sigma tools within the Utility area such as: Kaizen Projects, MTBR, MTTF, problem solving, energy reduction and Lean principles.

Qualifications

- Must have a mechanical craft qualification.

- 5+ years industrial experience ideally in the operations and maintenance of Biologic and Utility equipment.

- Excellent interpersonal skills.

- Customer focus.

- Innovative.

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.

- Good problem solving skills.

- Results and performance driven.

- Adaptive and flexible.

- Pharmaceutical/GMP experience an advantage.

- Experience carrying out mechanical repairs and fault finding on utility/process / manufacturing equipment e.g. pumps, mechanical seals, rotating equipment, HVAC, refrigeration etc.

- Experience of utility systems maintenance and troubleshooting.

- Experience of CMMS type systems (PEMAC).

- Experience of Root Cause Analysis techniques an advantage: 5 Whys, Fishbone etc.

- Be familiar with daily activities in all areas of Maintenance.

- Deputise for Maintenance Team Lead as necessary.

- Facilitate an environment of continuous improvement.

- Participate in investigations in work area as necessary.

- Participate in Cross-Functional teams as necessary to support site goals.

- Support training of other technicians.

- Collaboration and teamwork.

- Initiative and motivation.

- Share ideas and suggestions for improvement and encourage others to do the same.

- Work as a strategic partner with all other departments within the facility.
