Our client is one of the world's premier consumer products groups with a strong global footprint, and revenues exceeding 60 Billion and three main centres of excellence in Ireland. Our client is now looking to fill the following position;
Lead Planner - Materials
The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient availability of materials to fulfil orders on time and in full, and the direct management of the Materials Planning team.


  • Develop strategy for the supply of materials;

  • Ensuring timely materials supply that enables customer order fulfilment success. Review MRP recommendations and execute accordingly, i.e. place Purchase Orders, Reschedule Orders, Change Orders;

  • Ensure Inventory levels are in line with working capital objectives.

  • Review and Upload MOQ, Safety Stocks / Order Policy monthly, and manage materials inventory to these policies. Minimize risk of obsolescence with tight control of MOQ and pro active analysis of demand variations on supply;

  • Drive a productivity agenda in material supply by identifying and removing any non-added value steps;

  • Meet all internal & external compliance responsibilities;

  • Work with other departments to understand forecast dynamics;

  • Develop, Lead and motivate a professional team of Material Planners;


  • Bachelor's Degree or similar qualification in a related discipline;

  • 5 years + experience in Materials Planning;

  • Proven experience of managing and developing a team. Ability to organize, manage and motivate teams in a dynamic environment;

  • Strong operational experience in a dynamic multinational organization, with specific materials management experience;

  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, both verbal and written;

  • Ability to problem solve and make quick decisions;

  • Be capable of working effectively in a cross functional environment;

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks;

  • Results orientated and commitment to achieving objectives

  • Excellent Customer Awareness and customer focus
