This position is based in London, UK.

The area: Large Customer Sales

The regional Large Customer Sales (LCS) teams partner closely with our major advertising clients and agencies to develop digital solutions that build our clients' businesses and brands. We are in a unique and exciting position to shape how marketing and business is conducted in the digital age. We provide consultancy services across Google's broad range of solutions, from Google AdWords, to YouTube, to Mobile, that help our customers connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences and get the most out of the web.

The role: Industry Analyst, Telco

Actively help grow customer business as a sales Googler. Businesses that partner with Google come in all shapes, sizes and market caps, and no one Google advertising solution works for all. Your knowledge of online media combined with your communication skills and analytical abilities shapes how new and existing business grows. You leverage your entrepreneurial drive to target, educate and persuade new customers to embrace Google's latest advertising products and technologies. Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis. You anticipate how decisions are made, understand the details of individual campaigns and persistently explore and uncover the business needs of your key clients. Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how their advertising can reach thousands of users.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Account Stakeholders (Account Management, Industry Management, Industry Heads and CSRs) to identify strategic business opportunities, such as significant keyword expansion, improved account structures and ad text for a selected customer portfolio (e.g. top 25 accounts plus strategic new customers in start period)
  • Quantify high impact opportunities with clear traffic, performance and budget recommendations and pitch to clients when applicable
  • Develop forward thinking, data-driven sales recommendations that align with client marketing objectives for selected customer portfolio
  • Give ad hoc optimization recommendations and product support to selected strategic clients. Work with Account Optimizers to help identify and implement recommendations and optimization concepts
  • Partner with Product, Sales, Account Management and Sales Operations to support the development and the testing of tools, templates and frameworks to streamline and scale client analyses for the local market

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BSc degree. In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in an analyst or business development function, from a media agency, in management consulting or a research function

Preferred qualifications:

  • Data-driven and highly analytical, and able to translate data and trends into powerful strategies and compelling messaging
  • Highly analytical with superior quantitative skills
  • Strong experience in media planning, audience measurement and advertising effectiveness research (incl. online advertising) and expertise with a wide variety of methodologies
  • Strong interest in online advertising
