Recruitment Plus is currently recruiting for an Industrial Engineer in Co. Louth who will be responsible for ensuring all processes, documentation, tooling and training is created and available to transfer products from the prototype / pilot to the release for volume in production. (New Product Integration process). Liaising with R&DE, Production, Quality, H&S in supporting production workflow, focusing on how to complete the assembly process most efficiently and integrating new products/B orders into the main assembly process.

Location: Role is commutable from Co Meath, Dublin North, Dublin West, parts of Cavan, Monaghan and Co. Down.


  • HND (Higher National Diploma) or Honours Degree 2.1 in Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering.
  • 1 to 3 years of industrial manufacturing and/or production engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical, Electrics/Electronics, Assembly work, Hydraulics, Work Instructions and Safe working practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to successfully transfer knowledge.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to come up with solutions and problem solve.
  • Understanding of TAKT time and build implications.
  • Computer Literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, Powerpoint (experience in Microsoft Visio and Autocad/Solidworks/Pro-E(Creo) would be beneficial).


  • Work with the Engineering team & provide input on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Lead the timely transition of New Products from Engineering to Production.
  • Document and develop assembly process to support and integrate prototype, New Product Development (NPD), Pre-Production and B orders into the main assembly process
  • Communicate with R&D when prototypes and B orders that require R&D support are starting the assembly process.
  • Help identify key requirements for the assembly process, i.e. tooling, parts layout, etc.
  • Manage continuous improvement efforts for quick change over, standardized work, work place organization and visual management from concept to implementation. Write procedures, instructions and training manuals as necessary to support Production.
  • Work with front line managers to develop the support structure including information flow and systems, and process reviews
  • Educate and train people on ways to improve the company's products, machines and processes.
  • Constantly keep an eye to the future of the organization and identify and eliminate short and long- term problems that may occur. Interface with & coordinate related activities of other departments as required to support production needs.
  • Attend meetings and give feedback to rest of the team.
  • Any other duties consistent with the role.
