We also provide full turnkey solutions to a wide range of MVNOs, Independent and Online Retailers. Our suppliers include all of the major OEMs such as Nokia, Sony, RIM, Samsung, Huaweii and Apple.

Fónua Ltd. is an Irish Company, founded in 1997. Formerly known as 20:20 Logistics Ireland Ltd, we were part of the UK based multinational - The Caudwell Group until its sale in 2006. The Retail and Distribution arms of the Caudwell business were then split and sold into private equity. From 2006 until 2010, we were part of the UK based 20:20 Mobile Group, which has subsidiaries in the UK, France, Scandinavia, Spain and the Middle East. In a 2010 Management Buy Out, headed by Chairman, Don Maher and Managing Director, Fergus de Búrca, the majority shareholding in the Irish Company was purchased from the 20:20 Mobile Group and the Company rebranded as Fónua. Vodafone Ireland own a minority stake in Fónua Ltd.

The Role
Responsible for managing an annual spend of €200Million, the role involves responsibility for procurement of stock-in-trade as well as general overhead spend. Performance is measured through the development of key metrics and a series of KPIs such as stock availability, stock obsolescence, working capital utilisation, forecast accuracy, etc. Supplier management is managed through preferred supplier lists, maintenance of supplier balanced scorecards, identification and securing of new key supplier agreements, ongoing tender and negotiation processes. The role also includes responsibility for a team of four procurement and systems personnel. Significant interaction with internal as well as external customers presenting and explaining KPI delivery and performance can be expected. As the Company is actively expanding its procurement base in China and the Far East, a certain amount of international travel can be expected in order to attend Trade Shows, Supplier Meetings and Factory visits.

The ideal candidate will be a University Graduate with a further post-graduate qualification in a specialised Supply Chain discipline, with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience, operating at a senior level within a process-oriented and systems-driven environment.

Desirable Skills

- Supply Chain systems design, implementation and operation in an FMCG environment 
- Detailed knowledge of software systems, programmes and solutions
- Technical Consumer Electronics / Telecoms product knowledge
- Set up and operation of supply chain in respect of direct factory-sourced product in the Far East
- Vendor management and evaluation experience, balanced scorecard measurements
- Significant experience in vendor contract review and negotiation
- Detailed knowledge of EU import/export procedures, regulations, Incoterms, duties, customs clearance, etc.
- Procurement experience across telecoms and /or electronics industry is a distinct advantage
- Post Grad or Masters in Supply Chain Related Discipline
