Head of Fraud

 

The Role
To drive the development and delivery of a world class European counter fraud strategy, including building a European network to share best practice and support the implementation of state of the art counter fraud capabilities. To help shape and support delivery of the European and GI Claims Strategy.

Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to the development and evolution of Zurich’s counter fraud strategy and the deployment of that strategy in Europe
- Direct, guide and support European CCOs and counter Fraud teams in the implementation of the European counter fraud strategy
- Drive recognised, incremental annual savings from counter fraud initiatives and programmes
- Support the implementation of key GI Claims counter Fraud projects in Europe and across the Group as necessary
- Identify and implement global counter fraud best practice standards, including training for counter fraud specialists and Claims handlers
- Organise and deliver a counter fraud audit programme and support Quality Assurance activities.
- Monitor, collate and share relevant counter fraud information.to the benefit of claims teams as well as internal and external stakeholders
- Drive innovation on counter fraud initiatives that maintain Zurich’s market-leading position and secures market recognition for Zurich as a thought leader on the subject
- Wherever possible, generate positive media coverage of successful prosecutions of fraudulent activity
- Build and maintain a suite of counter fraud customer propositions that help support the acquisition and retention of business

RELATIONSHIPS
- Internal relationships with European CCO and GI Claims Head of Fraud.
- Internal relationships with European CCOs and counter-fraud teams.
- Internal relationships with counter-fraud experts across the Zurich Group.
- External relationship with other insurance companies, associations and authorities.


TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Experience of establishing and implementing counter fraud strategies, preferable on an international basis
- Experience of counter fraud investigation measures.
- Experience in attritional, large and complex claims handling.
- Experience in developing professional audit and training strategies.
- Experience in working in an international environment with individuals of different backgrounds and cultures.
- Ability to be highly effective in a matrix structure.
- Existing professional network

- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills.

Travel & Other Requirements
- To fulfil this role partial/extensive travel is necessary, across the 18 European countries.
- International travel outside of Europe may also be required.
- The European Claims Head of Fraud is based in Dublin, Ireland.
