Role:

 

As HR & Recruitment Manager, manages the day to day operations of the HR/Recruitment functions and duties within the business. The HR & Recruitment Manager will be required to deliver a comprehensive HR/Recruitment service to the business.  The HR & Recruitment Manager proactively advises on best practice HR and where necessary takes a hands-on role in dealing with case work. The broad areas include: recruitment, retention, employee matters, compensation and benefits, reward, professional growth, communications and performance management. The role will include defined KPI's which will need to be adhered to throughout the duration of employment.

 

The responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • You have been set key performance indicators (KPI's) which will be required to be adhered to and met on a consistent basis.
  • Designing and implementing an overall recruitment strategy.
  • Writing and advertising vacancies on job boards/newspapers/colleges etc.
  • Source and attract candidates by using databases, social media etc.
  • Screening, interviewing and short-listing potential candidates both personally and by telephone.
  • Assessing candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience and aptitudes.
  • Coaching and leading candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.
  • Following up with paperwork required for each candidate
    • Reference checking
    • Garda vetting
    • Visa requirements (if applicable)
    • Training Certifications
    • Supervision
    • Making job offers and following up with supervision requirements per candidate.
    • Organising recruitment events & open days.
    • Making visits and presentations to healthcare students within colleges.
    • Making contacts within the homecare sector in order to promote the Company's reputation as the "best place to work".
    • Getting to know specific business requirements in specific areas and meeting them.
    • Take ownership of HR policies & procedures and design & implement where necessary.
    • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc.) and take minutes.
    • Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
    • Liaise with external HR company when needed and deal with all staff issues.
    • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
    • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications.
    • Monitor and apply HR & recruitment best practices.
    • Monitor safety & welfare at work legislation & requirements.
    • Provide assistance when required with payroll function.
    • Monitor sick leave & annual leave for all staff.
    • Cover out of hours on call duties (e.g. absence reporting) as per roster and managing any issues that may arise.
    • Promoting staff retention and implementing a strategy for this.
    • Assist with HSE tender & SLA requirements.
    • Assist senior management in all HR decision making areas and provide guidance to senior management.
    • Design & implement tracking of recruitment metrics.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

 

  • Experience with and ability to use business software including Microsoft Office suite
  • A high level of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of &/or experience in the Home Care sector
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The flexibility and willingness to learn
  • To enjoy working with people
  • Good administrative skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.
