Hartley People are currently recruiting for a HR Executive for a large Pharmaceutical Company in Dublin. This is a 6 mths contract. The candidate must have a Shared Service experience.


To provide effective and comprehensive HR advisory support to HR Services and managers, in addition to understanding and owning end to end complex and sensitive processes, e.g. employee relations cases, whilst providing support for HR transactions
Interpersonal Skills:-
• Work across all businesses and at all levels of business hierarchy
• High level influencing is required to manage the relationships and service requirements if there is a conflict between business need and HR policy/process and Irish legislation
• Influencing managers in complex ER cases
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with empathy, yet also able to command authority
Scope of Responsibility:
• Providing transactional HR support across all processes if required
• Supporting all businesses
• Support internal customer groups
• Liaising with external suppliers
• Providing specialist support for key complex processes

• Managing and leading the process for less complex employee relations cases, and owning the work from beginning to end with employees at all levels
• The team is required to resolve complex and multiple issues in a timely manner which requires a flexible and proactive approach.
The role holder will often have to make a consistent and fair decision without reference to others and will have to ensure that these are in compliance with current and incoming legislation and Company procedures and policies across the business.
Expected Delivery:-
• Actively and independently provide advice and information to employees on HR policies, processes and procedures.
• Providing guidance to employees and managers on a wide range of employment matters in line with company policy and procedure and Irish legislation
• Participates in process improvement initiatives as required, providing input about core HR processes
• Leads/participates in business wide projects eg Salary Review & Bonus
• Manage and lead quality improvement initiatives..
• Participates in a broad range of projects as required
• Input into HR team on all HR related issues including policies, processes and systems
• Collaborate in projects including cross functional teams (acting as HR expert) ensuring company policy, legal and other regulatory requirements are considered.
• Support the development of, and providing coaching to, HR Executives to enable their effectiveness in terms of meeting KPIS, quality standards etc
• For new hires and leavers, act as point of contact for day to day operational queries
• Provide regular updates to HR Ops Lead/ HRMs of issues, trends, improvement opportunities

Decision making Responsibility:
Examples of where the job holder has authority to take decisions:
• Day to day operational matters
• Advice to line management on the application and interpretation of HR policy issues
• To be proactive in responding to customer needs and make decisions on solutions that best fit the customer needs and the business
• Expected to seek solutions and solve problems that occur on a day to day basis, and in relation to specific projects without reference to Manager
Examples of typical problems encountered:
• Having knowledge and understanding of differences between negotiated and non-negotiated staff terms and conditions and the impact these have on application of processes.
• Balancing planned/routine tasks with the unexpected nature of ER cases and project work
• Advice given on a day to day basis on operational matters has not only to be accurate and in line with legislation but must also take into account previous decisions made. Competent and comfortable using legislation and policy and taking judgment and risk
• HR advisory service to clients, with an expectation to support other HR Executives
• Deputise for HR Ops Lead
• Has a relationship with employees, managing the employee interface and ensuring understanding, compliance and satisfaction with HR Policies and processes mitigating risk of employee dissatisfaction and litigation
• Managing external reputation of the Company by the above
• Interface with payroll and benefits providers to resolve employee queries and issues and ensure integrity of company data
Problem Solving:
Typically involved in multiple projects at the same time within the wider HR community, sharing their knowledge and expertise and responsible for managing their own priorities and deadlines
Basic Experience:-
•Self starter able to maintain motivation and determination to see work through over prolonged periods
• Experience of exercising good judgment and working with
