This is a unique opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge and skills in the provision of professional consultancy services to many of Ireland’s most innovative and dynamic companies.

Leyton is the market leader in the provision of professional consultancy services relating to Research and Development (“R&D”) Tax Credits. We work closely with our clients to ensure that their R&D Tax Credit claims are optimised and fully supported.

The R&D Tax Credit was introduced in Ireland in 2004 to incentivise foreign multinational and indigenous Irish companies to carry out R&D activities in this country. The R&D Tax Credit has been instrumental in bringing many of the world’s largest and most well known companies to Ireland and has been a significant contributing factor to the success of many Irish companies on the global stage.

Due to the continued growth and success of our business, we are looking to expand our multi-disciplinary R&D Tax Credit team. You will have the opportunity to work with highly skilled and experienced tax consultants, engineers and scientists in the delivery of bespoke solutions to our clients.

As a consultant within our R&D Tax Credit team, your primary responsibility will be assessing the eligibility of projects undertaken by clients to be included in R&D Tax Credit claims. This will involve a detailed analysis of activities undertaken by the client to determine whether the required scientific/ technological advancements have been achieved. You will also be involved in the financial aspects of the claims.

The successful candidate will be a team player with the ability to work on their own initiative.

This is a client facing role working with clients in a wide range of industry sectors. We are particularly interested to speak to scientists/engineers from a Mechanical Engineering background.

The successful candidate will report to the Scientific Consultant Manager.

Duties will include:

  • Assessing the eligibility of the research and development projects undertaken by clients;
  • Drafting of technical reports detailing the qualifying R&D projects;
  • Preparation of R&D Tax Credit calculation and filing of same with Revenue;
  • Support of R&D Tax Credit claims in the event of Revenue Audit/enquiries

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Be an Engineering graduate preferably with expertise in Mechanical Engineering
  • Curiosity, awareness and an interest in the fields of science, technology and innovation.
  • Outstanding communication (both spoken and written) and people skills;
  • Strong numerical ability and a proven track record of working to tight deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic Team Player.
  • Full drivers licence is essential.
