EHS Officer - Reporting to the EHS Manager you will be responsible to set-up, implement, and manage Safety Health and Environmental systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company policy and appropriate standards for all ALSTOM workplaces in Ireland.

 

Reporting to the EHS Manager you will be responsible to set-up, implement, and manage Safety Health and Environmental systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company policy and appropriate standards for all ALSTOM workplaces in Ireland.

Key responsibilities include:-

  • To act as the ALSTOM Ireland EHS Officer;
  • To drive all EHS matters and actively participate in continuous improvement projects within ALSTOM Ireland
  • To be responsible for, developing and maintaining the Safety, Health and Environmental documentation and systems and other relevant documentation within the company in Ireland;
  • To ensure that all employees of ALSTOM Ireland and all employees working on any project which ALSTOM Ireland is responsible for, are familiar with EHS matters and have the appropriate training, information and knowledge of Safety Health and Environmental matters within the company;
  • To monitor and review Safe Operating Procedures to ensure effectiveness and compliance at all levels;
  • To ensure compliance to ALSTOM Ireland EHS management tools, particularly in relation to our TOP 8 high-risk activities.
  • To actively participate in the reduction of Deviations from Standards reported each month on Health, Safety or Environmental Grounds, as per ALSTOM procedures;
  • To support the maintenance of ISO14001 management system
  • To undertake any other duties as specified by the EHS Manager.

 Key responsibilities include:

 Relevant EHS qualification to Diploma / Ordinary Degree level with 3+ years post qualification experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation;
  • Knowledge and experience of the implementation of EHS management systems such as ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001;
  • IT literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Project applications.
  • Experience of working in a construction, maintenance or manufacturing environment is essential.
  • A full clean driver’s licence
