Dixons Travel is looking for an Assistant Manager for its Dublin Airport Store


Overall Purpose of the Job:

To exceed bottom line Manager’s contribution by enforcing Company policy and developing store teams in order to maximise their performance and exceed customer expectations.

Main Duties

Sales Management


Performance Management




Commercial Awareness

  • Carry out Pricewatch surveys in accordance with prescribed timescales
  • Monitor and escalate information regarding local competitor activity, to include advertising
  • Contribute to the business planning process on a quarterly basis







Customer Service

  • Ensure that all Customers are served politely and professionally, in accordance with Curry’s philosophy.
  • Ensure that the Customer always receives a good first impression of you and your Store
  • Answer telephone and deal politely with enquiries
  • Deal promptly and accurately with any Customer requests or complaints
  • Maintain integrity by keeping promises
  • Act as a role model to establish minimum standards of customer service

Stock Movement

  • Ensure that all Company procedures with regard to stock management are adhered to.
  • Prepare for and assist in conducting stock audits within Company guidelines


  • Investigate stock counts where applicable
  • Take action on out of stocks as applicable
  • Ensure that shop floor is fully replenished throughout the day.
  • Maintain high merchandising standards at all times.
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is achieved on the sales floor, including cleaning, ticketing, promotions and point of sale.
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is achieved in all stock in transit and stock holding areas.
  • Manage the store’s FGEP log to ensure accuracy and security of product

Financial Management

    • Maintain processes to ensure branch overhead control
    • In the Branch Managers absence, sign off on a weekly basis the PAR upload and ensure payroll spends are within target
    • Liase with service/sales support teams to ensure achievement of stock audit targets
    • Identify key business wins through analysis of BOS, BCT and relevant Repos data

Recruitment and Development



    • Recruit staff members according to the Company’s recruitment processes, taking into account payroll/FTE targets and staff mix
  • Take personal responsibility for and ownership of your own training and development
  • Ensure that the whole team take ownership for their own training and development
  • Coach and develop all team members to achieve their full potential
  • Continue to develop product knowledge in all product areas.
  • Communicate with all staff to ensure that the store remains replenished and shippable at all times.

Store Standards

  • Maintain high merchandising standards at all times.
  • Assist in ensuring high standard of discipline and organisation in the back areas of the store.
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is achieved on the sales floor, including cleaning, ticketing, promotions and point of sale.
  • Ensure that all areas of the store are fully replenished throughout the day and that self-service areas are shippable.
  • To comply with Company instructions concerning promotions and planograms
  • Ensure that all price changes are actioned promptly and accurately


  • Ensure that store procedures in relation to handling of cash and cabinet keys are followed at all times.
  • Ensure that all alarms are tested and switched on/off in accordance with specified store policy.
  • To conduct a self-search before leaving the branch.
  • Ensure that all staff, contractors and visitors are searched in accordance with Company procedure
  • Be actively aware and alert at all times within the shop.
  • Take appropriate action to prevent criminal acts taking place.
  • Care for all shop assets including premises, security, stock, cash and documentation in accordance with specified store procedures.
  • Provide a working environment which complies with all Company rules and procedures concerning Health & Safety
  • Open and close the store according to Company policies






  • Maintain and increase up to date knowledge of new and existing products and be aware of any competitor activity.
  • Attend training workshops, when and if required
  • To comply with Company standards of dress and appearance
  • Conform with all Company rules and procedures concerning Health & Safety
  • Comply with the rules set out in the Staff Handbook
  • Provide and maintain an environment for all staff reflective of the rules set out in the staff handbook
  • Comply with any other reasonable instructions or duties required by the Branch/Territory Manager
