Development Manager with the Provident Financial Group.



 We are recruiting for a number of Development Managers in Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow

Role Summary:

(Primary purpose of the role)

  • Develop new and existing agencies by providing support and guidance to a specific number of Agents (a Section) in order to achieve quality growth.
  • To provide or arrange temporary cover for vacant agencies.
  • To ensure Agents comply with legislation, policies and procedures at Company and Regional level.

Key Accountabilities


Quality Growth

  • Provide appropriate levels of motivation to Agents in order for them to achieve the Company’s objectives.
  • Develop new agencies in line with business needs.
  • Organise and prepare Agent meetings as required.
  • Attract, engage and develop new Agents as necessary.
  • Procure new customers in line with current operational procedures
  • Active involvement in promotional activity.


  • Vet and authorise applications for credit from existing customers within credit limits
  • Conduct visits to the homes of potential customers in order to assess their suitability.

Arrears Management

  • Manage arrears through the use of management information.
  • Procure payment of arrears through the use of direct telephone contact.
  • Encourage and obtain payment from arrears customers through personal visitation in line with Company policy.

Performance Management

  • Conduct weekly agent interviews in order to monitor, analyse and discuss agency performance weekly with Agents.
  • Formulate, agree and monitor Agent objectives.
  • Provide the necessary support, guidance and coaching to each Agent to improve individual performance.
  • Arrange and conduct visits to both current and previous customers in order to maximise sales and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Meet with the Area Manager to discuss and develop strategies for the                                      achievement of Company objectives.
  • Ensure complete coverage of all agencies under remit.
  • Active involvement in the EPM process through quarterly reviews, taking responsibility and ownership of own development.


  • Complete all relevant administration queries promptly, in line with legislation and Company procedures.
  • Liaise with internal/external bodies in line with Company policy, where required.
  • Ensure agents operate in line with legislation and Company policy. 
  • Investigate potential security issues as appropriate.




It doesn’t matter that you may not be from a financial background, you may in fact have excelled to a Management position within a retail environment. However the one main factor in your past experience will be exceptional customer service whilst having your finger on the pulse to enable delivery of objectives. 

Ideally you will possess a Business Management qualification and be a proven, skilled influencer and communicator at all levels.  We are in a period of modernisation, therefore your ability to manage change whilst still achieving business objectives will be well challenged in the early stages of your career with us.
