This role will work as part of our newly established Sales Operations team based in Cork and will support the Business Operations Manager on managing systems and reporting related queries from our Sales & Pre-Sales teams, as well as our partners.

The role is a mix of internal sales support, data analysis, systems analysis and business process improvement. We would ideally like a MIS/BIS/Business grad with previous business analysis, customer service or sales support experience, who has a strong mix of data analysis, systems analysis, process improvement and sales support.

This is an initial 12-month Fixed-term contract role.

VCE’s core product is called Vblock ( This is essentially a virtualized data center in a box (albeit a very large and expensive one!). There are 2 product types. The products are made up of a number of finished products from the main companies involved in the VCE Joint venture, primarily network products from Cisco, storage products from EMC and virtualization software from VMWare.  You can see the Vblock being made here -

The role is based here in our EMEA Head Office based in Ballincollig (where we have c. 100 staff working as part of EMEA operation) and the role will work closely with our pre-sales and sales team based across EMEA, as well as our key partners and parents. We have approx. 300 employees in total across EMEA.

This role will work as part of our newly established Sales Operations or Deal Desk team based here in Cork. This will be the 2nd Analyst hire for the team along with the Senior Business Ops Manager so this role will support the manager and our sales team and our partners in terms of developing processes and systems which will enable them to close deals quicker. As our product is bespoke, we must customize our sales processes, tools and systems to ensure that our sales deals are closed as quickly and smoothly as possible.

It is a very autonomous and highly critical role so we want a self starter who can work in an extremely fast paced and very changing environment.

  • We are seeking a recent IT or Business graduate
  • c. 1-2 years experience in a Deal Desk/Sales Support or Sales/Business/Systems/Reporting Analyst role.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills as this is an internal-customer facing role
  • Fluency in a 2nd European language would be a distinct advantage
  • Previous experience of using CRM and Pricing tools such as and ACT would be a distinct advantage
  • Must have excellent MS Office experience, in particular MS Excel


  •  Develops reporting requirements to resolve a variety of business-related problems. Develops reports and data requirements to optimize analysis capability. Improves reporting and analytics processes and tools as necessary. Works with IT or relevant business communities to recommend improvements to systems and reports. 
  • Streamlines processes and develops best practices around business intelligence and management. Communicates processes and results to senior executives and management. Participates in and drives strategic discussions around business activities. Identifies and recommends productivity improvement opportunities. Tracks performance of the organization against strategic and tactical objectives. May have global responsibility for business operations
  • Implements and standardizes business intelligence gathered from various processes and systems.
  • Develops and maintains business models, business cases, and financial forecasting tools.
    Conducts trend/root cause analysis. Documents business case analysis and translates business requirements into process/functional design/system solutions. 
  • Manages projects through completion including project tracking, monitoring, reporting, and administration. Ensure standard portfolio processes are met. 
  •  Evaluates business process implications of system requirements and make appropriate redesign recommendations.
  • Provide strategic technical insight with respect to each functional area and share expertise on concerns with integrating with other current systems. 
     Assists with the development of project plans including the creation of detailed work plans and timelines using project management tools. 
    Performs other duties as required. 

   ·         Broad experience and understanding of business operations/sales operations
   ·         Proven financial management and analytical skills.
   ·         Ability to organize and prioritize, maintain attention to detail, and work under critical timeframes.
   ·         Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
   ·         Ability to manage by influence in a matrix environment.
   ·         Ability to interface effectively and establish quick credibility and confidence with cross-functional groups and senior management.
   ·         Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including sales management, parent organizations, internal business units and customers.
·         Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Power Point
·         Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

Education Required:  
 Bachelors Degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Marketing (or similar).
 Experience Required:  
 1-3 years relevant experience
