DCC Settlements is responsible for settlement of all transactions within Global Securities Services. As part of a team of 20, within a Settlements Department of 49.  The Section processes up to approx 500,000 transactions per month for a broad range of Direct and Global customers. The section is responsible for timely and accurate settlement of a wide variety of instruments including Equities, Fixed income, Fails Coverage; Derivatives, ADR's, and Cross Borders, which have to be completed within tight deadlines through-out the day.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitoring and clearance on the various queues to ensure the timely settlements of all trades.
• Day to day liaison with clients to ensure all client queries are answered within an acceptable time frame. This client contact may also be in respect of bringing issues to the client's attention.
• Liaise with CSD, counterparties, customer service, other settlement areas and any other departments as necessary to resolve issues and settle transactions;
• Assist with the processing of other instruments within the Settlements Department;
• Actively seek to resolve stock breaks;
• Understand, prevent and resolve exceptional errors.
• Ensure checklist is completed for daily activities.
• Obtain a clear understanding of departmental procedures.

Knowledge/Experience: • Basic settlement experience preferable but not essential.
• German or Swiss German an advantage
• Ideal for someone with previous work experience looking to expand their knowledge in equity processing within an International banking environment.

• Analytical and numerate.
• Good written and verbal communication skills English & German
• Good lateral thinking & common sense.

Qualifications:

• Strong Leaving certificate
• 3rd Level qualification is ideal but not necessary

All new hires that have not attained a third level qualification are required to complete the Citigroup Certificate in Applied Financial Services.  This course is taught by the Institute of Bankers via blended learning; average study lime required is 4-5 hours per week. 
The course is a 9-month programme, incorporating 2 modules:
1. Financial Services Environment
2. Financial Services Applications
The course is externally accredited via University College Dublin and carries 10 credit points within the European Credit Transfer System.  More details will be made available to you if you are offered a role with Citigroup.
